Siemens racing program drives NASCAR-related sales
Siemens Industry Inc., Automation & Drives Technologies, supplied all the electrical equipment for Bill Davis Racing's new 65,000 square-foot Winston Cup race shop in High Point, N.C. The new facility has a showcase room in the front with Davis' No. 22 and No. 93 Winston Cup race cars. The sprawling complex also features an office area, a combination kitchen/TV/meeting room, a weight room, and two truck-bays for the race car haulers. The building includes HVAC, fire and security systems from Siemens Building Technologies, Inc.

In addition, Siemens is supplying almost all the electrical gear for the new Kansas International Speedway near Kansas City. The 150,000-seat facility also will use Siemens fire alarm system from the Cerberus Division of Siemens Building Technologies. The new 1.5-mile tri-oval track will host its first Winston Cup and Busch Races in September 2001.
